Jobs open up for Project Affected Persons (PAPs)
Currently, 15 Project Affected Persons (PAPs) have got the jobs. They are working for a Myanmar-Japan joint venture construction company (Penta-Suntac), which is responsible for the initial construction works for the development of the first-phased Thilawa SEZ. Although they are daily waged workers, the company provided them with uniforms, and other safty related instruments. The relevant trainings are also given to them. There still are many vacancies reserved for PAPs. Thilawa Management Committee has been encouraging the PAPs to take current vacant jobs in order to build up their skills for better jobs in the near future when manufacturing companies come in.
